Why?

Never has it been more important to seek a wide range of inputs into the strategy process. Equally it has never been more important to focus resources around the areas of greatest opportunity.

Unorthodox monetary policy, changing demographics and new sources of wealth creation require new ways of thinking to capture value. In turn this has shifted the available opportunity set for all investors. Asset sectors heretofore considered exotic or esoteric are now legitimate candidates for institutional investment. This dynamic alone has driven the need for a more nuanced approach to asset selection and allocation. In such an environment, the capacity to seek external advice allows our clients to promulgate strategy more clearly and to link the proposed strategy back to the purpose of the organisation. In turn, this allows for a more comprehensive appreciation of both opportunity and risk.

What?

Jacobs-Williams has two complimentary lines of business:

  • Providing consulting and business development planning to fund managers wishing to enter the Australian market including acting as their authorised representative for sales and marketing activities in Australia

  • Fiduciary management services including serving on investment committees as an external, independent and expert advisor to financial institutions, not-for-profit entities and family offices

Our clients find their markets changing, their opportunities for investment in traditional asset sectors pressured by valuations and rates - all the while having to comprehend how new asset sectors and opportunities will shape their portfolio returns or their business success in the years to come. After all, the impact of decisions we make today will have their most material impact in the distant future.

With that in mind and recognising that such decisions are designed to bring benefit over multi-year horizons, our perspective and advice is driven by recognising that the long term matters. This is a central part of what we deliver to our clients - an independent focus to ensure actions and outcomes are consistent with our clients organisational goals.

What actions and decisions ought be taken now to ensure long term prosperity and sustainability? Here, purpose informs everything we recommend from what market segments to focus on to the organisational and governance structure required to support the strategy, through to business planning around resource deployment and capital allocation.

How?
  • We apply a rigorous process delivered within a fiduciary based framework.

  •

  • We ask:

  • What approach or balance of assets offers the highest likelihood of achieving the objectives of the organisation?

  • What is the best way to access those markets, strategies or assets?

  • What is the appropriate way to implement the strategy?

  • How do we optimise activity and exposures in order to deliver upon long term objectives and achieve the organisational purpose
